Early and Automated Testing of MCALs: Enhancing Robustness and Safety Compliance
Drivers or MCALs (Microcontroller Abstraction Layer e.g. for AUTOSAR) are often not tested or only tested in the context of the entire application. This is a problem for many projects, especially those with safety requirements.
The presentation will introduce a method that makes it possible to automatically test the hardware abstraction layers early on in the project. With a lightweight hardware-in-the-loop approach, all drivers can be tested at the pins of the microcontroller at signal level. This leads to significantly higher robustness and enables qualification for safety-relevant systems (e.g. MCAL for ASIL C/D or other SIL standards).
